New Beginnings

A little note from February 2nd, 2016:

Today’s the day!!! In a few hours I will be in Prague. PRAGUE. If you told me a year ago that I would be living in Europe on my own, I probably would have laughed. Those that know me know how outside of my comfort zone it is to do something like this. But a lot has happened in a year.

When I decided to study abroad a year ago, I was in a completely different place in my life. I wanted to get out and do something for myself, so I signed up to study abroad as a “maybe” so I wouldn’t regret not giving myself the opportunity. And in this past year I’ve grown a lot. I got more involved on campus and in clubs, joined a sorority, and made countless new friends…which makes going abroad that much harder. But having people that make saying goodbye more difficult is a special thing.

I’ve never been so ready yet so unprepared to do something in my life. It’s a weird feeling knowing that you actually don’t know anything that’s about to happen. It’s important to step outside of your comfort zone – to feel the fear and do it anyway. I cannot wait to see what these next 4 months bring!

  1. I am soooooo proud of you! Enjoy these adventures out of your comfort zone. One of my best decisions was moving to NYC in my 20’s— scared, friendless, jobless, and excited. And life worked out. Savor these days. The hard and the fun.
